President, premier experience them firsthand 【Taipei】 Computex is helping pump life back into the slumping world economy and driven by the hard work of vendors and buyers from all over the globe, the exhibition has been a brilliant success. MSI has received large numbers of orders from around the world for its beautiful X-Slim, Wind netbook, and All-in-One (AIO) Wind Top Series, the praises of which were sung by President Ma Ying-jeou and Premier Liu Chao-shiuan who were on hand to personally experience them. MSI has triggered a worldwide craze for lean, mean, beautiful machines.

Computex, which opened its doors on June 2, has drawn a large number of pioneering manufacturers and record num bers of buyers. For its part, MSI is introducing several innovative product lines, including the best motherboards and graphic cards in the world, the highly acclaimed and aesthetically pleasing X-Slim Series of laptops introduced this year, the Wind U Series netbook, the G Series of gaming notebooks used to snatch the world video game championship, the AIO (All-in-One) Wind Top Computer Series, and computers for car and plane use. These products more than testify to MSI’s robust R&D and design capabilities dedicated to meeting consumer market needs.

These industry-leading innovative products have been the subject of many reports of the media worldwide and Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou and Premier Liu Chao-shiuan attended the exhibition to experience firsthand the beauty, utility, and chic that characterize MSI’s notebook computers. Just back from a visit to Latin America, President Ma came to the Zhonshan Junior High School Station on the Muzha-Neihu Line of the MRT on 6 June to preside over a ceremony marking the launching of MSI Wind U Mini Notebooks on the MRT. Commuters can now use the Internet using WiMAX—the latest generation of high speed transmission wireless—while taking the subway.

Accompanied by such industry leaders in Taiwan as MSI CEO Joseph Hsu and Acer CEO J. T. Wang, President Ma stated that the use of the WiMAX on the MRT was another example of Taiwan pushing the envelope. He then boarded the MRT where he experienced firsthand WiMAX’s ultra high speed Internet access, also known as 4G wireless transmission, using a MSI Wind U120 netbook while the train was in full motion.

President Ma explained, "What you are watching on the screens in front of you are television programs and real-time images from the Muzha Zoo. These aren’t TVs; they're mini laptops. You can even check your e-mail while commuting!" After he finished speaking, President Ma operated one of the MSI Wind U120s, taking only seconds to check his e-mail and open a photo attachment showing him presiding over last year’s ceremony celebrating the inauguration of the WiMAX on buses. President Ma pointed out that Taipei was the first city in the world to offer access to the Internet via WiMAX on buses and this year, Taipei is once again leading the world, providing Internet access on a subway system via WiMAX.

While President Ma was experiencing WiMAX technology on an MSI Wind U120, Premier Liu Chao-shiuan was visiting MSI’s exhibition area at Computex. Accompanied by MSI Senior Vice President Henry Lu among others, Premier Liu tried out the touchscreen functions on MSI’s AIO Wind Top Series. The ease with which he could connect to the Internet, view photographs, and use the computer’s multimedia functions was a pleasant surprise to the premier who took time out of his busy schedule to visit. Prior to leaving the booth, he made it a point to praise the 15.6" CULV X-Slim X600 Notebook Computer which has been all the rage this year, saying that despite its large screen, the X600 tips the scales at only 2kg and is less than 1 inch thin.

MSI President Joseph Hsu explained that MSI is establishing its own brand name this year and is focused on developing innovative products and enhancing market sales. MSI has performed exceptionally at Computex this year receiving many more overseas buyers and orders than expected. The gorgeous X-Slim, AIO Wind Top, and Wind U netbook Computer Series have proven especially popular with markets and buyers around the world.
