Show Off: MSI GTX260 OC Edition	Category: VGA

This is a small review of the MSI GTX260 OC ED in SLI. These MSI card has got a default clock speed setting of 620 Gpu / 1296 Shader and 1080 mem. Due to time constrain, I was only able to test Vantage, 3DMark06 and Crysis. Test setup: CPU: Intel E8400 @ 4.2 GHz ~ 4.4 GHz BOARD: XFX 780i GFX: MSI N260GTX-T2D896-OC Settings of GFX card used: Stock 620/1296/1080, Overclocked 734/1512/1242 , 721/1512/1260 Software used for Overlclocking card: EVGA Precision Tool 1.2.0 RAM: 4GB DDR2 RAM @ 956MHz ~ 978MHz OS: Vista Ult x64 SP1 / Win XP SP3 This cards clocks itself to 300 gpu, 1000 shader, and 100 memory (MHz) in 2D idle mode.

All MSI X58 motherboards now SLI compatible	Category: News

Excellent news from MSI today. All of the company's X58 based motherboards now support NVIDIA's SLI technology. Users of the MSI X58M, X58 Pro-E and X58 Platinum motherboards can get a free BIOS upgrade to add this feature. Global mainboard and graphics card manufacturer MSI, today announces that its entire line up of MSI X58 mainboards will support NVIDIA SLI technology. The entire series of mainboards now supports both NVIDIA SLI and ATI CrossFireX, enabling the highest graphics performances. As a result of MSI’s continuous product improvements, a new overclocking record was recently set on an Intel Core i7 975 with MSI Eclipse SLI.

MSI X58M vs ASUS Rampage II GENE	Category: Motherboard

MSI includes the standard array of components like the Realtek ALC889 HD audio codec, Realtek RTL8111C, VIA VT6315N IEEE 1394a chipset, JMB363 chipset for eSATA, IDE, and SATA, Intel ICH10R for SATA and RAID, along with full support for the Core i7 processor series. With the latest 3 series BIOS, the board fully supports both CrossFire and SLI operation. MSI also includes an accessories bundle. You get the standard rear I/O panel cover along with 1 x IDE cable, 1 x SATA cable, 1 x USB expansion bracket, and an external Molex power cable. MSI provides a well-written and informative manual and software CD.

The MSI Eclipse SLI is the premeir X58 motherboard for the Intel Core i7 processor. The design is great looking, it is feature-rich, and comes from a great company with a history of excellent products. So how did we like it and why had it taken this review so long to be published? Introduction Micro Star International (MSI) is no stranger to the enthusiast market or enthusiast community. Their products are generally well known and are popular with quite a few gamers and general enthusiasts and with good reason. Their products are generally solid while typically being reasonably priced. According to MSI's web site MSI's manufacturing capacity for motherboards alone is expected to reach 21 million units with capacity for video cards increasing to 9 million video cards annually. So needless to say they are a major player in the industry.

The MSI 790FX-GD70 looks to be another winning product for MSI. It's a feature rich solution designed for AMD's socket AM3 processors using DDR3 memory with the overclocking enthusiast in mind. Introduction MSI is a well known name to the world of computing enthusiasts. They maintain a wide product range of motherboards, graphics cards, and other products. Their motherboards range from basic no frills designs for the OEM market to more expensive and high end solutions for today's latest and greatest processors which are obviously targeted toward the computing enthusiast. Today we are looking at the MSI 790FX-GD70 which is designed for AMD's latest socket AM3 processors. The MSI 790FX-GD70 is based on the AMD 790FX chipset and is coupled with AMD's SB750 south bridge. The 790FX-GD70 supports AMD's socket AM3 Phenom II X4, X3, and X2 processors as well as the new Athlon II CPUs. According to MSI's documentation, the 790FX-GD70 supports 140 watt CPUs, DDR3 2133MHz memory, along with active phase switching. It also supports AMD's Crossfire and CrossfireX multi-GPU technologies. The board boasts and impressive array of other features. The MSI 790FX-GD70 also has a new feature for MSI boards called the OC Dial. This is not unlike the joystick on the Rampage II Extreme. It serves the same basic purpose which is to manually control FSB speeds in hardware on the fly.

With Intel's launch of the P55 chipset based Core i7 and i5 processors, we knew it would not be long until we saw a slew of motherboards with the P55 chip. Today is the first full review of one of such board from MSI! Our first example is the P55-GD65, which is priced right smack in the middle of P55 motherboards. That should give you an early indication as to where this board stacks up as far as features and performance are concerned. In actuality, this motherboard has an incredible number of features, which we will touch on shortly.

Some years back MSI decided to really attack the enthusiast motherboard market, and they seem to have succeeded in garnering quite a bit of attention for themselves. Before then, MSI had a reputation for cutting corners where they could, and producing a board which may not be up to snuff as compared to their primary competitor, Asus. Of course, before the Phenom launch there really wasn’t much excitement on the AMD side, so it was interesting to see MSI produce a really good AMD 790FX board at launch, the MSI K9A2 Platinum.
