Want to have some nice light fans but you've allready bought some transparent fans?
Or you think that these ledfans are too expensive or their performance sucks?
I show you how to build one yourself!
The equipment
The fan that we’re going to use is an transparent 80mm case fan with adjustable speed. Other necessary equipment:
- A power-drill
- A 4,8mm drill
- Some superglue
- 4 bright red leds
- 4 470ohm resistors
- A Soldering iron
- Some wires
- Soldering flux
- A fan with transparent blades
Adding the leds to the case-fan Step 1:
pick up your power-drill an put the 4,8mm drill in it. Then drill a hole in every corner in the fan:
Step 2:
Solder a resistor to the positive side of the led and put some heat shrinking tube over it. Then solder a wire to the negative side of the led and put some heat shrinking tube over it.
Now, push this led into a whole (check if it doesn’t touch the blades of the fan). If the led keeps falling out glue it in the hole with some superglue.
Step 3:
Solder a resistor to the positive side of the led and put some heat shrinking tube over it. Push this led into a hole next to the other led and connect the negative wire of the first led with the positive side (the side with the resistor)
It should look like this:
Now keep doing this with the other 2 leds until you have this:
The easy part is over, now it gets a little more difficult...
You’ll have to cut the wires of the fan (NOT THE RPMCONTROL WIRE).
Now connect the positive wire (the wire connected to the resistor) to the positive wire of your fan ( the orange wire) and connect the negative wire to the negative wire of your fan ( the black wire).Then you'll have to connect the wires of the fan to the wires of your 3pin connector.

Tadaaa, you’re done.
The result:
You’ve just created a red light fan for 11€. And it has adjustable RPM + more performance then other pre-made light fans.
